At Bayside Baptist Church, our staff play a diligent role in serving the Lord through various ministries. To learn a little bit more about each staff member, please see the various biographies below.
•Rev. J. Mark Pullen. Sr. Pastor is a graduate of Columbia International University (B.S.), and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Providence Bible College and Seminary. He has served churches in Maryland, Texas, and Virginia before becoming Bayside's seventh Pastor in December of 2001.
•Tom Pendergrass. Director of Education & Administration has served as our former Director of Music at Bayside Bayside for many years. Tom currently is serving as our Director of Education and Administration.
•Laura Smith, Director of Music and her husband Matthew have been the volunteer worship leaders for our 11:00 Celebration Service since 2005. Upon the retirement of her father Tom Pendergrass, as Minister of Music, Laura was asked to continue in his footsteps as the part-time Director of Music.
•Laura was raised at Bayside and has always been very involved with music. Laura and Matthew have a passion for worship and feel very blessed that God has given them this opportunity to share and grow with their Bayside family.
•Heather Garner, Director of Preschool/Children Ministries has been a member of Bayside Baptist Church since 2005. She has served preschoolers and children in a wide variety of areas, including Sunday School, Extended Session, Children’s Church, PeeWee Church for preschoolers, VBS and Upward Cheerleading. Following God’s plan for her life, she has developed a strong will for sharing the love of Jesus with all children.
•Christi Stephens, Youth Director has been a member of Bayside Baptist since 1988. Christi has a passion for the Lord, her family and for students. She has volunteered in various areas at Bayside including VBS, Extended Session, Team Kid Director and she is currently volunteering as the Upward Co-Director. Christi has served with the student ministry since 2006.
•Pam Sikorski, Director of Weekday Education has served at Bayside Baptist Church since 2006. She is a graduate of Towson State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Pam has 3 years experience in the preschool classroom and 13 years experience as a director.
•Joann Kent, Bookkeeper has served at Bayside Baptist Church since 1992. Before coming to serve the Lord at Bayside, she supervised her husband’s business office for 20 years. Joann has also served as Bayside’s Preschool Sunday School Director.
•Janice Harris, Church Secretary has served at Bayside Baptist Church since March, 2001. She has served as secretary and in other positions in local area churches in the Hampton Roads area since 1959
•Michael
Williams, Senior Custodian
has served Bayside
Baptist Church since June of
1981 – 26 years of hard
work. Bayside Baptist
is blessed to have Michael
on staff. Michael is always
willing to help with
whatever job you might have
for him. He certainly
enjoys his job. He is
also employed as Custodian
at St. John’s United
Methodist Church.
