Advent. A season of hope and expectancy. We wonder at the idea of God with Us. This baby, God in flesh, humbled himself by taking the form of an infant for our salvation.

Advent is more than just a countdown to Christmas. It’s the anticipation of His arrival. The coming of our Savior. And while we use this time to reflect on His birth, we also look with anticipation to when He will come again. Not as a baby but as a glorious King. THAT is an advent worth celebrating!

This year, to help our church family learn about our coming King, we will reflect on 24 Names of Jesus. There are over 200 names for Jesus in the Bible, but we have chosen these 24 to focus on this Advent season. Each day,      beginning December 1, we will read a scripture and meditate on that name. To make this extra special for your family, Advent Kits are available at the Welcome Center for pick-up on Sunday morning. Each kit contains the  devotion guide, 24 ornaments and a gold sharpie. As you read the scripture each day, write the name and reference on the ornament and hang it on your tree or in another special place.

In addition to the daily readings, each Wednesday Pastor John will share a devotion during Midweek Online, focusing on the different names given in Isaiah 9:6, “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” This all leads up to our Christmas Eve Special which will premier on December 24. The streamed event will be available on this page, YouTube, and Facebook.

You can download your complete Advent Guide below. Guides are also available at the Welcome Center. Weekly guides will be sent each Wednesday in our e-news along with Pastor John’s Midweek devotion. Scriptures will also be posted daily on Facebook.
